Tasks

Task 10.1: State of play

Conduct desktop research and provide an overview of the state of play of tertiary prevention, liquid biopsy, molecular residual disease, recurrence surveillance, and clinical trials.

Task 10.2: Pilot: Implementation of "liquid biopsy guided recurrence surveillance

This pilot will be implemented across multiple countries and will focus on implementing a more personalised way of monitoring cancer survivors after treatment, ensuring tertiary prevention. Instead of using the same follow-up approach for everyone, this project will use liquid biopsies to assess each person’s risk and decide when imaging scans are needed. The goal is to detect cancer recurrence earlier, allow quicker treatment, improve survival rates, and reduce unnecessary use of imaging.

Task 10.3: Empowering survivors: Integrating long-term care and holistic health strategies

Evaluate the current landscape of tertiary prevention in cancer with a focus on patient-centered care, incorporating systematic evidence generation and clinical testing to inform future decision-making. This includes assessing patient needs and outcomes, clinical testing of interventions, evidence for health technology assessment, policy making, and implementation.
